We did it! After a month of donations and sharing the fundraiser far and wide, our summer fundraising campaign has come to a victorious end.
Are you ready to find out the incredible result?
A huge 377 individuals donated to our fundraiser which led to the grand total of £16,996! £4,496 of this came from generous supporters like yourselves who worked tirelessly to not only donate but to share with your family and friends to maximise the impact of the campaign. Your efforts definitely paid off as we received more than double the amount of single donations that we raised in 2019 for our end of year fundraiser!
This is such a significant milestone in the history of Open Cages. With your relentless dedication to free animals from cruelty, the Ban Factory Farms fundraiser has raised more money than any other fundraiser launch.
We also achieved further legitimacy for our campaign through receiving press attention with the dedicated support of celebrities and scientists, especially Lucy Watson and Dr Michael Greger.
This definitely helped to increase the amount of petition signatures to ban factory farming in the UK. The petition has received more than 25,000 signatures, a fantastic feat and our most successful petition ever.
But what does this mean for the animals involved?
The sheer amount of donations that we’ve received means that we’ll be able to tackle animal abuse on a scale that has previously never been seen. Your selfless donations will ensure that we have the resources to fund undercover investigations which will expose the cruelty of factory farms to a larger audience. Donations will also fuel campaign materials and any future demonstrations to continue rallying against the horrors of factory farms and the threat they pose to animals and general public health.
Receiving such an incredible number of signatures also means that it’ll be easier to push for legal change as it increases our chances of the petition being noticed and discussed by parliament.
Each and every single donation and signature increases the impact of our campaign. It’s as simple as that. However, what is so incredible about this fundraiser and petition launch is the massive amounts of people who came together to help animals, whether its by donating, signing or sharing the fundraiser and petition with others.
Every donation counts. But some individuals went above and beyond with their donations. Open Cages would like to say a special thank you to the following: Kasia Wypy and her fiance for the incredible donation of £10,000 and our anonymous donor who gave £2,500. All three of you ensured that the fundraising campaign kicked off to a record breaking start. Your overwhelming generosity will not only benefit the lives of so many animals who are currently trapped in factory farms across the UK but will also change the hearts and minds of the general public.
However, the incredible victory of our fundraiser and petition would not have been possible without all of you. Each and every one of you has proved that you’re willing to stand up for what you believe in. To stand with those who have no voice and are unable to make a change. We at Open Cages are so thankful for your dedicated support and generosity. Your actions and kindness will create a better world for factory farmed animals in the future.
We are so proud of how far we’ve come as a charity and are elated with the fantastic result of our fundraiser and the success of the petition so far.
Thank you for being a hero for animals. Please keep the momentum going by signing and sharing our petition here.
With your help we can reach the incredible feat of 30,000 signatures and beyond.
